IPVanish review
Unlimited devices and a serious torrenting record — our July 2026 findings, plus what independent reviewers and real customers are reporting.

Unlimited devices and a serious torrenting record
IPVanish is a US provider that has spent the last few years rebuilding its credibility, and the most important step was getting audited — twice, most recently in April 2025, confirming it stores no activity logs, connection times or DNS queries.
What it is genuinely good at is throughput and P2P. Reviewers rate its speed around 9.0/10, it allows torrenting on every server, and unlimited simultaneous connections make it a strong household option. The unavoidable caveat is jurisdiction: it is based in the United States.
What other reviewers and customers rate it
Our score is one data point. Here is how IPVanish is rated by independent review sites and on public customer-review platforms, so you can see where we agree and where we do not.
What people say is good
Fast on both local and distant servers
Reviewers rate speed around 9.0/10, describing it as very fast in most locations with only a few weaker servers. Unusually for a mid-tier provider, long-distance performance holds up.
Unlimited connections
Reviewers single this out as one of its strongest features — phones, laptops, tablets, smart TVs and routers with no device cap. Rare, and a significant advantage for families.
Audited twice
The no-logs claim has been independently verified on two occasions, most recently April 2025, confirming no storage of activity, connection times or DNS queries.
Torrenting on every server
No restricted subset. Combined with an advanced kill switch and full ownership of its own infrastructure, it is a credible P2P choice.
What people say is bad
United States jurisdiction
The dominant criticism in every review. IPVanish operates from within a Five Eyes country. The no-logs claim is audited, but the legal exposure remains, and privacy-focused reviewers consistently mark it down for this.
Streaming is inconsistent
Some servers work with Netflix; many do not. Reviews describe unblocking as unreliable, and our own testing unblocked only three of six platforms.
No refund on monthly plans
The money-back guarantee applies to longer terms only. If you want to try it month-to-month, there is no safety net.
Fewer advanced privacy features
Reviewers note it lacks the multi-hop, obfuscation and specialty-server depth that top rivals bundle in.
How fast IPVanish actually was
Measured against a 942 Mbps unprotected control line in Frankfurt, median of five runs per server, at the 21:00 CET peak window.
Our measurements
IPVanish held 824 Mbps nearby and 601 Mbps long-haul in our cycle — a flat, dependable curve. Its sustained P2P transfer held 88 MB/s across a six-hour soak with no throttling, the best sustained result of the ten.
What independent testers found
Security.org rates IPVanish 9.0/10 on speed, describing it as very fast in most locations with a small number of weaker servers. CyberInsider rates security 8.8/10, noting strong encryption and no DNS leaks in testing.

Security and privacy
US jurisdiction — a Five Eyes member. Two independent no-logs audits, the most recent in April 2025. AES-256 and ChaCha20 encryption, WireGuard support, an advanced kill switch, and infrastructure the company owns and operates directly rather than renting.
Streaming results
Six platforms, six servers each, three minutes of real playback per test.IPVanish cleared 3 of 6. A pass means full resolution with no proxy error on an ordinary server — not only ones the app labels "streaming optimised".
